Strong like 160 bull

Its been called many things; the Red Baron, the beast, POS, an improbabilty that its still running(by the guys at midas), a lady magnet but yet still it forges on. My 1994 Aerostar just turned over 175,000 miles. Under my tenure it has been to VA, WV, MD, DE, NJ, TN, AR, MO, OK, TX, SC, NC, & GA while also undertaking two Gauley trips, one Atlantic City trip and hauled a soccer team around. The marine corp sticker on the back has gotten me saluted in the past and the licence plate has got me off of a speeding ticket. Rusting slightly, kinda tilted, leaking and part of the muffler held on by a bungee cord does not stop the beast (only three hubcaps adds to the effect). Also, a Nikki picture just because I want to.

Iowa! Idiots out walking around

Had to travel to Iowa for a family event and got upgraded to a sweet car. While driving around I saw what was claimed to be the largest truck stop in the world. I didn't stop but I can imagine there were some fantastically trashy items. (at the one truckstop that I did stop at, had 5 dollar electric blue wayfarers, I had to buy). I saw beautiful Iowa vistas including rolling thunderclouds and then the massive flooding on the Mississippi River. The one picture with trees coming out of the water is about two miles from the river itself which just shows how high the water has reached. Finally I reached the Moline, Illinois airport which had shirts there that said "What happens in the cornfield, stays in the cornfield", a bar that gave me free drinks and has a total of six gates.

Indiana Jones

Zoo princess and I met up one day after work to enjoy pork bellies, wine, beer and chilly rooftop views. After sauntering over to her favorite haunt which had my favorite beer, we strolled back to enjoy some wine before whipping out an Indiana Jones hat. I think everybody looks cooler in one of these so I had to post the pictures.

A day at the Nats game

Condor managed to snake us 4 tickets to a Nationals game. The seats were amazing and we got to sit in the front row, the only people in front of us were, I suppose, BSDs. We hoped for every foul ball and eagerly awaited but none came to us. After 9 innings of good fun we noticed that Nats fans were easily outnumbered by the worst fans on earth, Phillies fans. We persevered, bouncing to bar after bar afterwards which eventually led to Condor living up to his other nickname, Metronapper.

NYC City Fun

Went to NYC for a quick trip to the Big Apple. Lots of highlights including famous burger places, David!, walking around 30 rock, seeing a giant lego center, Nikki looking very very fancy and pretty, and a daytime view from Nikki's awesome penthouse apartment! I had a ball and will def be back again.

Christian's epic drinking and then adventures

We went out for some reason, maybe Capito's birthday? Who knows with that boy. We were dazzled by Christian's drinking ability, ate some bbq with Papa Capito, played a game of sequence and then the night got rated NSFW so enjoy the video; it's all you get.

Superbowl (holy jeez its been a while)

We got invited over to Bobkat's place for superbowl party including more food than you could possibly imagine. I think Bobkat gave food away and still ended up with enough food to feed the entire crew of the U.S.S. Nimitz. We had a good time joking around, having Richard passed out on the floor, Capito smelling bad, Sarah telling rediculous stories in the corner and Kat doing a goofy winky eye at Rob.

P.S. the silver ivy I gave almost a year before was not only thriving but was absolutely huge. I took a picture!

Sorry it has been a while

Bert came charging in on Gchat today noting I had not blogged. There were lots of reasons but one is I broke my Camera. But nevertheless (is that one word?) the blogging must go on.

Mom got Dad and I tickets to the Newseum in Washington D.C. We didn't have that much time and I was very skeptical about how fun this could be (aka none). It turns out I had a ball. In there is not only a whole bunch of Pulitzer prize photos but explanations of them as well if you don't know the back story. An East German guard tower rises from the basement onto the main levels, the spire to the World Trade Center (including photographs taken during the collapse that were fairly recently uncovered), and an ORIGINAL Gutenberg Bible. I just about died of excitement after seeing that. My dad and I have always had a weird fascination with the Unibomber, Teddy Kaczynski, so to see his house was really exciting. Top it all I off was the section of Berlin wall I had made out in front of in 10th grade for my second kissed girl ever. And that is a great memory jogger as well.
