Bikers

Tonight I decided to try a new place to eat. It was a typical steak and potatoes place (but Drew don't worry, I had asparagus instead). It was decent steak but I did win a free beer by answering a trivia question correctly so +1 to that. The odd thing was as I exited the establishment, I happened to see movement to my right. In a section of unused parking lot between the strip mall and this restaurant was two groups of bikers, about 20 feet apart, pelting each other with rocks. These weren't small rocks but ones about the size of softballs. I watched for a few minutes as they nailed each others extremities and bikes with rocks then decided that I would rather finish my book so I headed home. Mind you this looked like they were doing it for fun but I would not want to put my personal property nor myself in path of hurled softball sized rocks. If anybody has heard of this, I'm all ears.

Apollo 18

So I decided to go see the movie Apollo 18 last week. Obviously, Augusta doesn't have many people & it was a Tuesday so the whole movie complex was mostly empty. In fact, I didn't see anybody besides the guy who took my ticket. So being in a totally empty theatre watching a horror movie can add to the scary factor. I loved the movie, the thought of being trapped so far from help and the jump factor made me love it even more. I know it got awful reviews for being too slow but the pace of it made it even scarier for me. Anyway, I slept with the light on. If you have seen this, message me because I have one kinda huge plot hole I found.

Trash Man

After heading to the trash can outside, I noticed this awesome set of tire tracks actually ground into the asphalt! I don't know how fast the trashman was peeling out, but I'm impressed.

My 2011 home

So for the majority of the year I have been living in the gorgeous Candlewood Suites. I've had stints at home, various travel locations and one week at a Holiday Inn but for the most part, this has been my home. I've had three visitors and Dad crashed with me one night as well. My room is lovely and I have taken steps to decorate it as I see fit with a James Bond poster, a map of Russia, a full on computer and a pile of bargain bin DVDs that would blow your mind. I also have, as what the hotel staff says, is the best room location as I am right near the entrance, the food store, the gym and the laundry room. As of today, the hotel staff announced I was the longest staying resident of the hotel (whoohoooo). But do not lose heart my faithful readership, I am coming home on October 3rd. I shall be a vagabond no more.

Fishin!

So our company loves us so much that they took us fishin down here in Georgia. We got out there before first light and caught a few small fish. We caught nothing all afternoon so I napped on the boat in perfect weather. Right as we were heading back in, all of a sudden the fish started biting. I caught the second largest fish at almost 10 lbs. We then ate tasty tasty fish later that night (prepared Augusta style with mustard, cajun seasoning & lots of sweetcorn yeeeeeehaaaaa). I've also become an expert in filleting fish so remember next time you catch some to bring me along.

Well thats disconcerting

Why only the next seven miles? I think that's just good advice for everywhere. We should have those on every streetcorner.

Dinner & Games

Really wanted some seafood so we drove down and got a wonderful meal in the sunset over the sound. We also saw one of those vertical take off planes fly by and I managed to snap a photo. Later that night, the nerd boys got down at what they do best, being nerds. We played new board games, played some magic and played VIP. VIP is a game that involves two teams in a pool, one team is trying to dunk one person named the VIP and one team is trying to protect them. Its a simple game that can't really be won (except once we got so tired we just declared Eddie a winner to rest).

Beach

Drew invited us up to his beachhouse for some adventures. I dragged everybody down to the beach where we played the football game (a game where you throw the football so the person catches it as the wave crashes on them & they see if they can hang on). We charged into deeper water to swim with dolphins which were swimming offshore. The one thing we didn't know was that the jellyfish lurk just offshore. David and I got lit up by the Jellyfish but it was so worth it to get within 30 feet of dolphins. Also, David didn't bring shoes so had to run with his umbrella from shade to shade. We laughed much.

Tacos, Eyeliner, & Redneck Driving

So this post is a grabbag of what happens in the life of Andy. So Kat and I went shopping for Rob's suprise birthday and stopped off at Taco Baja. I had to snap a picture of Kat eating a taco that ended up being bigger than her head. Note that she had already eaten half the taco at the time of the picture.

At Rob's party we saw Sarah getting ready with her makeup bag and she suggested that the pirates of the party wear eyeliner. Both Christian and I got all done up but, obviously, I couldn't take a picture. I don't know how girls do this everymorning! I was so scared I was going to get my eye poked out.

The final post is that the rednecks down here like pumping up pickup trucks and then race them. Lets just say that it doesn't end up too well.
