USS Yorktown

It was a lovely day and so I decided to head to Charleston, SC to see the USS Yorktown. This mighty fighting machine served as an excellent battlewagon during the Second World War earning 11 battle stars and fighting in incredibly important battles. She covered the landings at such famous places as Tarawa, participated in the Battle of the Phillipine Sea (largest naval battle ever fought), and helped sink the largest warship ever constructed. Nearly 14 stories from keel to bridge, she is a massive warship. I spent nearly six hours aboard her as you will see in the next posts.
