Leg 17- May 19- Prairie County, MT

We put North Dakota behind us and headed toward a tiny town in Montana.  In order to get there we had to make two long pavement road jaunts or one "shortcut" across a partially gravel road.  We took the partially gravel road which slowed us down but we kept going along alright (we can't turn around unless we have enough room).  About 10 miles into our 30 mile "shortcut", the road turns to washed out dirt road.  We didn't capture any photos but the road was much more pitted and weatherworn than this shows.  Dallas actually refused to watch and I drove with muscled clenched and some very fearful moments.  4 hours later, we finally rolled back onto the main highway.  The Bounder was filthy, my heart was in my throat and Sasha was very spooked by the time we made real roads again.

At one point we had to partially drive off the road to assuage an angry momma cow

The buttes we passed were beautiful.

These neat broken forests
