Opening of the Valley

According to our guide, most of the Nabataeans who built the city would have lived in small huts. The part of the city that remains was mostly tombs and religious structures. Although many Arabs had lived in the city after the Nabataeans fell mostly hiding from invading armies, during the heyday these places would not have been inhabited. It also contains the largest stadium carved into stone in the world.
