Today we had a record rainfall in the early morning starting around 5 AM. By the time I was on my way to work only one road going north was still open and every major highway in the city was closed. My 94 minivan slugged to work as I watched small sedans actually float away. I snapped a few pictures but it hard to make out. At one point I was the only vehicle left on highway 35, a four lane highway as shown in the first picture. The second photo shows the entire road covered in over 6 inches of water. Third photo shows water coming up out of manhole there was so much water pressure. The final picture shows a pickup truck barely making it through the water.
